What if you’re pregnant?

Aches and pains are common during pregnancy. The ovaries produce the hormone relaxin which causes ligaments to soften allowing the pelvic bones to shift slightly during delivery. This is a good thing of course because it makes delivery easier. Unfortunately the softening of the ligaments also affects the whole body which means it’s much more vulnerable to strain as it changes to accommodate your baby. Pain isn’t an inevitable part of pregnancy and gentle osteopathy is a safe and effective way of relieving some of the physical discomforts.

Osteopathy can also be extremely effective in preparing your body for childbirth by helping ensure your body and pelvis is structurally balanced. This will help you have the best chance of a more efficient and uncomplicated birth.

How? It will aid your baby’s chances of finding the easiest way through the birth canal and reduce the chances of a prolonged labour by helping contractions to be more efficient
