Your first visit - What to expect

Your first visit to Solihull Osteopathic Practice for osteopathic treatment will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time a detailed history of your complaint will be taken including any previous complaints or injuries. A full medical history will also be taken. This will be followed by a physical examination.

You will normally be asked to remove some of your clothing and perform a simple series of movements so the mobility and points of weakness can be noted. An assessment of posture is often included.

Other factors such as lifestyle and diet may be taken into consideration, to enable an accurate diagnosis to be made. A suitable treatment plan will be discussed and you will be given time to ask any questions or raise concerns that you may have about your problem.
